The landscape comes to your table in the strong, simple flavours such as truffles from oak forests, splendid 'pecorino' cheeses, lentils, farro, salami & cured meats made from the truffle-eating wild boar.

Staying on a country estate in Central Umbria, you will enjoy a range of cooking experiences and specialist tastings in private homes, in fabulous local restaurants and an exclusive villa, on farms and in traditional Umbrian family kitchens, the selection of local cooking classes are based on a variety of recipes rooted in ancient tradition and some of the finest natural produce in Italy.

Events often include seasonal ventures into food foraging, truffle hunting, cheese or wine making or oil pressing according to the time of year. In visits to wine cellars, private homes, villas and farmhouses as well as specialist tastings, whatever the ingredients, the accent is always on genuine flavours.

In addition, you have a cellar wine tasting of the award winning Sagrantino wines. This unusual grape grows only between Medieval Montefalco and the ancient Roman town of Bevagna. Its production in local monasteries can be traced back to the early middle ages, and is a favourite of the Vatican for the holy wine of mass.

Local cooking classes based on recipes rooted in ancient tradition & the finest local produce - a traditional Umbrian farmhouse kitchen, a family-run village restaurant and a 5 star villa with your teacher - a Contessa - makes for varied and delightful cooking lessons.
