Mobile phones in Italy and France

top^

If you are taking your mobile phone with you, please enquire with your provider, whether it is adapted for "roaming" and which supplier your phone service operates through in each country you are visiting. It is definitely wise to get this sorted a week or two before you travel.

Are there any additional costs once we arrive at our villa ?

top^

In most cases, a refundable cautionary deposit is required upon arrival. The amount of the cautionary deposit differs with each property and is able to be confirmed at the time of your booking enquiry.

In Tuscany our rates are fully inclusive of weekly rental, final cleaning and utilities unless stated otherwise in the individual property description. In Provence, the final clean may be an additional charge, which will be advised at the time of your booking enquiry.

How is the cautionary deposit paid ?
top^

A cautionary deposit is required, to protect owners against breakages, damage and extra costs including extra cleaning, not paid before departure. Some owners prefer to handle the cautionary deposit themselves and in this case you should hand a cheque or cash to the owner on arrival. In other cases this deposit is handled prior to your departure by way of a guarantee form which we will provide at the time of booking.

Changeover days
top^

Generally, the changeover day for our houses is Saturday, but some are Friday with a very few on other days of the week.

Can we arrive outside the stated times ?
top^

Access to the property can only be granted at the stated times unless by special request. Some of the owners do not live on or near the properties. If you are not able to arrive within the times stated then you must notify us and we will endeavour to make the necessary arrangements. If you are delayed at all please phone the person responsible (as stated on voucher and property directions) immediately on your arrival into Italy or France. Arrival times in Italy are usually between 5 - 8 pm on the day of arrival and between 4 - 6 pm in France but again, these details confirmed at the time of your booking request.

What time must we leave the premises ?
top^

By 10.00 on the day of departure - If you intend vacating the property very early it is important that you notify the person responsible on your arrival.

What additional services are available ?
top^

Additional services are available in most locations on request at an extra cost eg catering, extra cleaning, babysitting. We can also assist with special events e.g. weddings, special birthday celebrations.

What if something breaks or needs repairing during our stay ?
top^

Contact the person responsible for the property as indicated on your voucher - you will always have a contact number for an English speaking person who can help you.

What should we do if we have a complaint ?
top^

If you feel that the property you rented is not prepared to your satisfaction, (for example if it is not cleaned properly, or some appliances do not work) you should contact your locally based representative IMMEDIATELY so that the problem can be rectified. It will be too late to let us know on your return. If you feel that you are having communication problems with the person responsible, you are welcome to contact us and we will mediate on your behalf in an effort to resolve the problem.

Is renting a car a necessity ?
top^

There are areas, particularly in the countryside, where a car rental is an absolute necessity, as most properties are located off the beaten track. However, a car is always recommended simply because the independence from public transportation schedules adds considerably to making your stay a most enjoyable one. In some areas however, it is possible to do without a car completely, such as in town centres.

Is there parking space at the Villa/apartment ?
top^

In most cases 'yes', particularly when your property is set in a country location. There is generally parking close by if your house/apartment is located in a village or town but not necessarily 'outside your door' therefore we do recommend that you take all personal possessions with you and do not leave anything of value in the car.
